We’re Hiring: Grants Programme Assistant

AFFORD seeks a Grants Programme Assistant with great interpersonal skills, professional demeanour, integrity, sound judgment, and strong analytical and documentation management skills. The Grants Programme Assistant will be an integral part of the AFFORD Grants team and will work under the direction of the Deputy Executive Director.
The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate clearly through both oral and written means, clarifying and implementing grants guidelines, reviewing and writing reports and participating in meetings attended by a wide range of people. S/he will be able to work with the Grants Team on all administration aspects of the role, including contract documentation and database management, to a timely and accurate standard.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about the development of diaspora businesses and organisations in their attempt to contribute to job creation and development in Africa. They must have a keen interest in diaspora investment and the potential it has in adding significantly to the African social economy. This role will suit a candidate who is proactive, has a problem-solving attitude and is can hit the ground running in a busy and productive environment.

AFFORD is looking for a dynamic storyteller who can support telling the stories of impact that the organisation is making. This role will suit a young graduate, passionate about Africa and international development, looking to build on their writing and storytelling skills.

The successful candidate will work with the members of our team to document the impact of one of our projects implemented in Ethiopia. The focus will be on telling the stories of transformed lives of individuals as well as on the positive impact on their communities. Such stories will be essential in ensuring that our target audiences can connect with the beneficiaries and, therefore, will be instrumental in mobilising support for AFFORD’s work.

AFFORD Diaspora Finance

AFFORD Diaspora Finance (ADF) Ethiopia is looking to hire a consultant to lead the final evaluation of its Innovative and Sustainable Social Change project. The successful applicant will write a report synthesising the project’s achievements, challenges and learning for our own use as well as for our funder, The Pharo Foundation.

The contract will be for 16 working days, with interviews being held on 22 November 2017. Applicants must be based in Ethiopia.
