‘Africa will need 80 million jobs over the next 10 years’ (Financial Times) It is figures like these that have been at the heart of AFFORDs work. Sustainable development will be strongly supported by decent forms of employment. AFFORDs current project ADF is looking at the various ways diaspora already carry out activities that assist in job creation and investment on the continent. While it is making a difference AFFORD has identified ways in which the impact of diaspora contributions can be amplified and how this can be done through appropriate frameworks and support.
Business support has been a key need identified and AFFORD has responded through providing grants, a business resource centre in the UK and Sierra Leone, A Bond and assistance from knowledgeable and experienced business advisors.
Business growth leading to sustainable employment is our main ambition and we are in place to assist entrepreneurs to grow, prosper and be successful.
